The 3M™ 837731 Air Filtration System effectively protects against a wide range of particulates and gases from the welding process. The Adflo™ system connects directly to any Speedglas™ series respiratory welding helmet and can protect users from particles and gases, depending on the filter used. It features a self-adjusting breathing tube with QRS (quick release swivel) for easy one-handed connection and release. It also includes an airflow indicator, pre-filter, spark arrestor, particle filter, high capacity lithium-ion battery, belt and charger. The standard battery is fully charged in approximately 5.5 hours, depending on residual capacity, and the system has an expected lifetime of approximately 10-13 hours when used with a new particle filter, a new fully charged battery and standard airflow. The air flow rate can be easily adjusted according to the user's needs. The continuous airflow rate is 170 litres per minute, regardless of battery charge or particle load of the filter. In hotter and more humid working environments, the air flow rate can be increased up to 200 litres per minute to ensure optimum user comfort. The lithium-ion battery makes the turbocharger almost 20% lighter, providing better balance and increased user comfort throughout the working shift. When using a respirator with a gas filter, it is recommended to use a durable battery, and some configurations also require a breathing tube with a silencer. The filters are sold separately: gas filter (837242 or 837542) and odour filter (837110).
